Those molecules which contains more than one type of atom are known as heteroatomic molecules..
say for example:CO2--it is formed by the combination of 2 different atoms first is carbon and second is oxygen.
some more examples:H2O,H2SO4,KCl,CH4 etc

in organic chemistry , a heteroatom is any atom that is not carbon or hydrogen. usually, the term is used to indicate that non-carbon atoms have replaced carbon in the backbone of the molecular structure.
