Explanation:

we know In each state of matter,There is molecules present in it....i.e...Each Substance is made of molecules......

In different state of matter..(Solid, liquid and gas)...

The intermolecular space (The distance of each molecules in a substance)....

It is minimum In Solid becoz the molecules present in solid are very closed to each.i.e. very tightly packed....and It is minimum in Gas!!!!

If the molecules are close to each other than...Then they exert Force to Attract with each other.....(Intermolecular Force of Attraction)....

In this Case:...

1)If moelcular space between the partice is minimum then the force of Attraction of the particle is maximum.......

2) If molecular space between the particel is maximum then the force of Attraction of their particle is minimum!!n

....Hope it helps u!

for ur extra knowledge....

This molecular attractive force cause Potential energy!
