When two waves of Same frequency travels in same direction superimpose each other then energy is redistributed , at some points intensity becomes maximum and at some points intensity becomes minimum.This phenomena is known as interference.

When two waves coming from the same source and having  the same frequency travels in the same direction, then they superimpose each other to form a resultant wave of greater, lower, or the same amplitude. The displacement is either reinforced or cancelled.This is known as Interference.
