The main tribe of the Iltutmish Turks was related to the Albury. He was the son-in-law of Kutubuddin Aibek and became the next sultan of Delhi Sultanate.
He is credited with the construction of Hauz-e-Shamsi near Mehrauli in Delhi. He also completed the incomplete construction of the Qutub Minar, which was started by his predecessors.
He introduced the Ikta system in the Delhi Sultanate which was a system related to the tax system of land. Under an Ikta system, any officer was given land tax of the area provided to him in lieu of his salary. Although this system was not a genetic system. Through this arrangement, it was easy to attach the official part of the far-flung distance from the Delhi Sultanate to the center.
He is credited with releasing silver coins and copper winnings. The weight of the silver tank was 175 grains.
