Actually hundreds of people gathered in the jallian wala bagh for the annual bishakhi fair. people came from different places to attend the fair. general dyer had announced curfew (*should not gather around in a place for discussion) but the poor people did not knew about it.Jallian wala bagh was a place where there was only one exit and all the three sides where covered with tall walls. general dyer marched with his army and blocked the only exit and fired at the peacefull gathering. there where only few survivers , but they lost their loved ones in the firing . there was even, a well that was filled with the dead bodies. people jumped inside the well to save their lives from the firing. Later general dyer was shot dead by one of the survivers. (i dont remember his name) but he shot dyer at his office in british. there are video available about this incident on youtube. you must watch it, you will be carried away.
