In chemistry, matter is something which has mass and occupies space.

In physics, matter is everything which is around us. Something which has mass and is occupying space.

Almost same. There are three states of matter in main-

•Solids.
•Liquids.
•Gases.

And we have 2 more -

•Plasma.
•Bose-Einstien.
