It is expressed in two ways are as follows:-
1. Absolute numbers :- It is the magnitude of increase of population in a year or decade. It is obtained by subtracting the earlier population from the later population.
2. Annual growth rate :- It is the rate of increase of population. It is measured in per cent per annum.
