The range of a set of any data is the highest and lowest values recorded in that set. Therefore, when we talk of the range of temperature, it may refer to the atmospheric temperature over a period of a day, a week, or month, whatever. There is always temperature variation between night and day, morning and noon, noon and evening, and so forth. If the minimum and the maximum temperature for that given period is recorded, we have the range of temperature.
