Rowlatt Act was a law passed in the year 1919 by the Imperial Legislative Council. This act enabled the British officials to arrest anyone who goes against the British government and put into prison for two years without any trial. This let Mahatma Gandhi to start Satyagraha.

the Rowlatt Act allowed the British government to arrest anyone without a warrant and to imprison anyone without any trial.It was popularly called NO VAKIL NO DALIL NO APPEAL ACT. It was the violation of the Civil rights it curbed the freedom of speech and expression of the people and strengthen to the police powers and policies
