semiconservative replication The generally accepted method of DNAreplication, in which the two strands of the DNA helix separate and free nucleotides pair with the exposed bases on the single chains to form two new DNA molecules, each containing one original and one newly synthesized strand of DNA.

Answer:

- helicase breaks hydrogen bonds between the bases- double helix breaks- each strand acts as a template- free nucleotide, activated by energy, pair up wit complementary bases.- DNA polyamerase catalyses reformation of hydrogen bonds and phosphodiester bonds - DNA twists in double helix- 2 daughter molecules of DNA formed - each containing one of the original DNA strands and one synthetic strand similar to the template.
