Slums:

The slums are highly populated area which are majorly found in the urban region of the state. The People living in slums are mostly improvised people. The people living in slum have houses in deteriorating conditions with poor sanitation, improper electric and water supply, and no law enforcement.

There was rapid increase in slum from 18th century which was mainly due to high unemployment, rapid rural to urban migration, poverty, natural disaster, improper economy, and so on. The slum are not only found in developing countries, slums are also in countries with developed economy.

Some of the schemes to reduce the slums include slum relocation, slum removal, public housing, and slum upgrading.
