Peninsula:

Peninsula is any landmass surrounded by three sides of water and one side of land. It is a unique geography formation. The temperature varies in between nearby the water and middle part of the land it looks like Island.

India is referred to as Indian Peninsula because it is surrounded by oceans on three sides which are at the south side of the land covered by the Indian Ocean, in the west by the Arab Sea and finally in the east side of the land is covered by the Bay of Bengal. India is tied to landmass in the north.
