Sericulture means rearing a silk worm to get silk from it.

  • These are fed up on Only Mulberry leaves.
  • Bombyx mori is widely used.
  • After some time these worm will make a net around itself.
  • Then it makes a tight net to protect itself
  • Then it will be evolved as a cocoon.
  • Then the silk collectors will stiffle them in order to not make Fibre with bad quality and to store it for much time.
  • Silk is mainely made up of Two Fibres.
  • The two fibres are sericin and fibroin.
  • Silk is a strong and shining fibre.
  • These is a natural fibre.
  • These is obtained from silk worm.

  • What is life cycle of Silkworm?

  • First stage is egg
  • Second stage is larvae
  • Third stage is pupa
  • Fourth stage is Silk Moth
  • Fifth stage is adult
  • And the last and final stage,sixth stage is Butterfly.
