Answer :-

Magnetism:- It is the property of magnets to attract magnetic materials such as small pieces of iron.

  • It is a permanent magnet that is comparatively weak and it's strength cannot be changed.
  • Whereas electromagnetism include the use of electromagnets that is a solenoid with winding on soft iron. It is a temporary magnet bit has a strong magnetic strength.

Explaination :-

The strength of electromagnetism depends on some factors such as :-

  1. Solenoid's turn number in per unit length.
  2. The strength of current through the solenoid.

Applications of electromagnetism in our life are :-

  1. Electromagnets are used in electrical devices such as electric bells, fans.
  2. It is also used the electric motor and generators.
  3. Used for lifting heavy materials.
  4. In medical field to remove iron particles from eyes.
