Nowadays, Elections are party-line election which means that they are contested by many different political parties out of which one party emerges as the winner.

Party-Line elections are of two types :

(i) Multi - party elections : As the name says, contested by many political parties.

(ii) Two party system : Contested between two parties

Two party System elections are those elections in which two different political parties contested between each other for forming the government. It is basically two different political parties with different ideology. No third party contest these elections. In this type of elections One party is the winner or the Majority in legislature and the Other is the loser or Minority in the legislature because of less no. of seats won. This type of Elections are very popular.
