Vegetative reproduction is any form of asexual reproduction occurring in plants in which a new plant grows from a fragment of the parent plant or grows from a specialized reproductive structure.

Vegetative propagation is a method of a-sexual reproduction of a plant. Only a plant is included and the offspring is the result of one parent. The new plant is genetically identical to the parent.

The offspring of the plants are clones of the primary plant since no mingling of DNA happens. The most prevalent kinds of vegetative propagation are grafting, cutting, layering, tuber, bulb or stolon formation, suck-ering and tissue culture.
