\huge\bf{\underline{Velocity}}

Velocity of a moving body is the rate of change of its position with time in a particular direction.

In other words, the displacement of a moving body per unit time is called the velocity of the body.

Velocity = Displacement / Time taken

Velocity is a vector quantity. It's SI unit is metre per second (m/s). Being a vector quantity, velocity can be negative.

Example ==> Two cars moving with a speed of 40km/h , one towards the east and other towards the west. Then velocity of one car with respect to the other is negative.

 \textbf {\textsf {Points to be noted}}

•» The velocity of an object can be uniform or variable.

•» It can be changed by changing the speed of the object, direction of motion or both

•» The SI unit of velocity is same as of velocity :- m/s

•» Velocity = Displacement/Time
