when the zero of vernier callipers doesn't coinsides with the zero mark of main skale, it is termed as zero error of vernier callipers.

If the zero mark on the vernier scale does not coincide with the zero mark on the main scale then the vernier caliper is said to have zero error. To find this error, we note the division on vernier scale which coincides with the division on the main scale.
