mechanical energy is the some of potential energy and kinetic energy is called mechanical energy.

potential and kinetic energy
= kinetic energy is the energy which object contains buz of a particular motion.
potential energy is the stored energy buz of its state of rest

Mechanical is the amount of work that something can do because of its potential and kinetic energies. An object that is falling has both kinetic and potential energy; the sum of both energies is mechanical energy.

Kinetic energy-

1.the energy possessed by an object by the virtue of its motion

2.it is measured from the place itself

3.it is measured by mass and velocity

4.this is the energy which moves

5.ex:-falling coconut, moving car or bus etc...

potential energy-

1.the energy possessed by an object by the virtue of its shape, position and configuration

2.it is measured from bottom

3.it is measured by mass, gravitational force and height

4.this is the energy which is stored at a height

5.ex:-stretched rubber band, slinky,an arrow and stretched string of the bow etc..
