Median: The middle number; found by ordering all data points and picking out the one in the middle (or if there are two middle numbers, taking the mean of those two numbers). Example: The median of 4, 1, and 7 is 4 because when the numbers are put in order (1 , 4, 7) , the number 4 is in the middle.

The middle term of any set of numbers is called median.

For example. the set is { 3695170}. So first arrange it in ascending order then find the middle term of the set that is only the median.

Formula to find out median:

For a set which have even no.of terms(n):

median= Mean of n+1/2 and n/2

For a set which have odd no.f terms(n):

median= n+1/2

In the example a.o: 0135679

n=7 (odd) so median = n+1/2

7+1/2=8/2=4th term that's 5

MEDIAN=5
