Its not maiden but its median.
Median is the middle value in the data.
Example 1: 3,4 5,9,10,4,6
to find median 1st step is to arrange it in ascending order
3,4,4,5,6,9,10
When numbers are odd median = n + 1th  observation
                                                           2
here n = 7
so median = 7 + 1  =  8  = 4 th observation = 5
                        2         2

Example 2: 8,12,3,5,8,8,9,1
ascending order = 1,3,5,8,8,8,9,12
When numbers are even then median =  ( n ) th observation + ( n ) + 1th observation
                                                                     2                                  2
                                                                                  2
Here n = 8
      = (  8  )th observation +  ( 8 )  + 1thobservation
            2                                   2
                         2
= 4th observation + 5th oservation
                     2
= 8 + 8
      2
= 16  = 8
   2

hope its help you

The median of a set of data is the middlemost number in the set. The median is also the number that is halfway into the set. To find the median, the data should be arranged in order from least to greatest. If there is an even number of items in the data set, then the median is found by taking the mean (average) of the two middlemost numbers.

Hope this helped you and if u are satified of my answer plzzz mark brainlust☺☺☺
