It is also called clean technique because it involves keeping the surroundings clean to prevent infectious diseases from spreading. The term medical asepsis is used to the practices adopted to induce or promote asepsis in surgery or medicine for the purpose of preventing infection. Thus, hand hygiene and clean environment are two primary features of medical asepsis.
