The release of blood capillaries and mucus that are stored on the inner-linning of the ovaries almost every month through the vagina of a girls body is called menstruation.

Menstruation occurs every month for 2-8 days this is called menstrual cycle.

The start of menstruation is in the time of puberty I.e. 12-14 years this is called menarche.

The menstrual cycle ends at the age of 45 in women this is called menopause.

1.When ovary release an ovum called as egg about 28 to 30 days this process is called a ovulation .
2.During this period the uterus wall become thick so as receive the egg..
3.In case egg is fertilized then it begins to develop this results in pregnancy
4.If egg is not fertilized then the thickned lining of the uterus breaks down which usually takes 4-6 days this is called period or mensuration .
5.In other words the cycle of producing and releasing mature egg or is called menstrual cycle.
6.This startof menstrual cycle is indication that a girl has acquired to ability to have a baby .
