Answer: Menstruation is a biological process occurring in certain primates. Normally once Puberty is reached the female body undergoes certain changes in order to support reproductive behaviour. The uterus in females is supposed to carry the foetus. Hence in order to provide a nutritious surrounding the uterine wall forms a blood lining. In case of fertilisation the zygote is implanted in the uterus and thus the uterine wall nourishes the baby. But in the absence of fertilisation the blood lining of the uterine wall breaks and thus mucus along with blood leaves the female body. This process is called Menstruation. This is a cyclical change occurring every 28-30 days.

\impliesMenstruation, or period, is normal vaginal bleeding that occurs as part of a woman's monthly cycle. Every month, your body prepares for pregnancy. If no pregnancy occurs, the uterus, or womb, sheds its lining. The menstrual blood is partly blood and partly tissue from inside the uterus.
