Methane:-

Methane is a saturated carbon compound. Its molecule is Formed by covalent bond of 1 atom of carbon with 4 atom of hydrogen. It belongs to Alkane group having chemical formula CH4.

★ It forms Covalent Bonds.

These compound do not contains ions so they are poor conductor of electricity.

★ Because of weak inter molecular force of attraction they have low melting and boiling points as compared to ionic bonds

Reaction with oxygen:-

When methane burns in air it forms Carbon dioxide and water with the release of energy.

{\sf{CH_{4}+2O_{2}----CO_{2}+2H_{2}O+energy}}

methane is a saturated carbon compound.its molecules is formed by covalent bone of 1 atom of carbon with 4 atom of hydrogen.it belongs to alken group having chemical formula ch4

** it forms covalent bone!

**these compound ok ji do not contain ions so they are poor conductor of electricity.

**because of weak inter molecular force of attraction they have low melting and boiling points as compared to ionic bonds

Reaction With Oxygen:-

**when methane Burns in air it form of carbon dioxides and water with the realized the energy..

ch ^{4}  +  2o_{2} ............ co_{2} +  2h_{2} + energy
