Methane:-
Methane is a saturated carbon compound. Its molecule is Formed by covalent bond of 1 atom of carbon with 4 atom of hydrogen. It belongs to Alkane group having chemical formula CH4.
★ It forms Covalent Bonds.
★ These compound do not contains ions so they are poor conductor of electricity.
★ Because of weak inter molecular force of attraction they have low melting and boiling points as compared to ionic bonds
Reaction with oxygen:-
★ When methane burns in air it forms Carbon dioxide and water with the release of energy.
