Hi. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet component of the MS Office Suite. It is used to create and maintain records. It offers several features to help people create records easily. Some of the features are:
- Conditional Formatting: It is used to specify a condition for values of cells and excel will arrange different colors for them accordingly. For example, in a class marksheet, the teacher sets the condition as green color for above 60%, yellow color for 40 to 60% and red color for below 40%. So, excel will set and change the colors accordingly.
- Pivot Tables: They can be used to sort, count, total or average data stored in one large spreadsheet and display them in a new table.
- Charts: Charts are graphical figures used to present data in an effective way. Excel provides various types of charts to display data however we want.
- Absolute Referencing: Absolute reference helps us to multiply different cells with a fixed cell in a worksheet. For example, if you want to multiply all the cells in a column with a fixed value in a cell, absolute reference is useful.
