☑A mirror I a smooth polished surface which reflects light regularly. One surface of the mirror is made opaque by silvering and then by a thin coating of red lead oxide paint. Reflection takes place from the other surface.
☑There are two types of mirrors. These are as follows:
(I) Plane mirror
It has a highly polished plane surface. The image formed by a plane mirror I always virtual i.e. it cannot be obtained on a screen, it is upright or erect.
(II) Curved mirror
It has a highly polished curved surface. Generally, the surface is spherical in shape. In that case, the mirror is called a spherical mirror. The curved mirror I of two types, namely concave and convex. Image formed by these mirrors depends on the place where the object is kept in front of mirror.
