It is a double-membrane-bound organelle. It is found in eukaryotic organisms. They supply ATP(adenosine tripohosphate) to cells. It is also known as power house of cell.

an organelle fiund in large numbers im most cells in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. It has a double membrane,the inner part being folded inwards to form layers.
