> Length 1.0 - 4.1 macrometer

> All the mitochondria present in a cell are collectively known as \underline{Chondriome}.

Mitochondria are found in both plants and animals cells.

It is a 2 walled structure.

The outer mitochondrial membrane is smooth.

The inner mitochondrial is folded into finger like projections. These projections are known as cristae.

The space within mitochondria is known as mitochondrial chamber.

The space filling jell like proteinaceous substance is its matrix.

Mitochondria has its own genetic material.

It is known as semi autonomous organelle.
