it is the division of body cells in an animal or a plant
it has five phases:
1. interphase
2. prophase
3. metaphase
4. anaphase
5. telophase

it is a type of cell division in which a cell divides two give 2 daughter cells having 2n number of chromosomes.....such type of cell division takes place in all the body parts except the gonads
