Molarity,M = w2 ×1000/m2×V

Where w2 is the mass of solute taken, m2 is the Molar mass of solute and V is the volume taken in mL.

M = 4×1000/40×500 = 1/5 = 0.2 moles/L (As density of water is 1, mass of water is equal to volume of water)
