It is the number of gram molecules of solute dissolved in one litre of solution.
This is known as molarity of the solution.
It is denoted by ’M’.

Molarity = no. of moles of solute/ volume of solution (in litre)
M = x/w*v
(where,
• x is the amount of solute in gram
• w is the molecular mass of solute
• v is the volume of solute in litre )
