A product owner (PO) is the leader responsible for maximising the products' value created by the Scrum development team. Generally the PO is engaged all through the sprint. They answer questions such as in what way things are supposed to function and look, and making any trade offs when needed

• If the Product Owner (PO) is not available during a Sprint, the product increment can fail to meet expectations. The PO is responsible for/in charge of  the overall product vision as well as its future improvements.
• Though the PO can communicate by way of multiple methods, it is important that the PO  be available at the time of a scrum and a spring, so as to manage the process and make sure that the development is following their overall objective/goal for the product.
