motion is movement of one object with respect to other objects in the surrounding. for example a car moves in rectilinear motion. when a car moves, only the car moves and not the road , house and other objects that surround it.

A body is said to be in motion if it changes its position continuously with time eg. The sunrise ,sunset and change of season are due to the motion of the earth
