Mountain range is a series of mountains or hills arranged in a line and also connected through high ground.

There are two famous mountain ranges in the word due to their height and length, which are given below:

i) Himalayas mountain range is the highest among all mountain ranges of world.

ii) Andes mountain range is the longest among all mountain ranges of world.

"Mountain ranges" are the a set of mountains connected to each other with highland to form valleys.

  • These mountain ranges are low on soil count due to heavy rain fall and high altitude.
  • Mountain ranges are formed when two "tectonic plates" crash into each Other and none of the plates goes on top of the other, the plates merge to form a higher ground that makes mountain ranges.
  • If the tectonic plates keep on moving then the mountains keep growing in height.
  • For example- Mount Everest the "tallest mountain" in the world but it is still growing, these types of mountains are called  Active mountains.
