In this mode of reproduction a single individual splits up into many new individuals.
When conditions become favourable that is food and proper temperature. The organism develop a thick coating around it's cell. This is called cyst.
The cyst helps the organism to tide over the bad phase. Inside the cyst the nucleus divide into several nuclei and each nucleus is surrounded by a bit of cytoplasm and new plasma membrane is formed inside it.
When favourable conditions return... the cyst break down and release the daughter nuclei.
Ex :- Plasmodium.
