When we add two numbers it should give zero. The number which adds up to get zero is called addictive inverse. For example, the additive inverse of 12 is -12.
When we multiply two numbers it should give 1. The number by which a number is multiplied to get 1 is called multiplicative inverse. The multiplicative inverse of a number is it's own reciprocal. For example 2 *1/2 = 1.
Hope this helps!!
