What is myopia?state two reasons due to which this defect is caused. How can such an defect can be corrected?

myopia is a defect of human eye in which the far point of a person comes nearer than infinity.
the person can see near objects clearly but can't see distant objects properly.

this defect is caused by:-
(I) excessive curvature of the eye lens{lens becomes thick}
(ii) elongation of eyeball

This defect can be treated by using a CONCAVE LENS of suitable power

myopia is known as Short sightedness : ---- The defenciecy of this people cannot see short distance , they can see only long distance is known as myopia .....

myopia is corrected by : ---- a concave lens is placed in front of myopic eye , moving the image back to the retina and clarifying the image .....
