Myopia occurs when the eyeball is too long, relative to the focusing power of the cornea and lens of the eye. This causeslight rays to focus at a point in front of the retina, rather than directly on its surface. ... In some cases, myopia is due to a combination of these factors.

Myopia is a defect of vision which is also called Near - Sightedness. In this defect, the person can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects distinctly. When a person is suffering form Myopia, the far point of the eye comes nearer than infinity. In this defect, the image is formed before the retina.

The main causes of Myopia are:

☄️Elongation of the eyeball

☄️Excessive curvature of the eye lens

This defect can be corrected by using a concave lens of suitable power. The concave lens will focus all the rays at one point and the image will be formed on the retina.

The correction for Myopia is attached along with this answer.
