Nascent hydrogen is a concept that was once invoked to explain dissolving-metal reactions, such as the Clemmensen reduction and the Bouveault–Blanc reduction. Since organic compounds do not react with H₂, a special state of hydrogen was postulated.
2KMnO4 + 3 H2SO4 +10 [H] → K2SO4 + 2MnSO4 + 8H20. Nascent hydrogen reduces Ferric chloride( Yellowish brown) inot colorless ferrous salt.
