The vector sum of all the displacement is the net displacement.

  • When an object is moving from one place to another then the object's last and first position's difference is the displacement.
  • For a round trip, the displacement becomes zero as it is the difference between the final and initial position of the object.
  • Distance belongs to the scalar quantity group and displacement belongs to the vector quantity group.
  • By subtracting the initial points position vector from the final points position vector the displacement will get.
  • Then sum up all the individual displacement values the result is the net displacement.
