these are longest cells present in our body. they are of three types

effectors

relay neuron

first the dendrites of neurons recives signals then these signals propagate through cell body , axon and nerve ending.

there is a empty space between the nerve ending and the dendrites of successive neuron which is called synapse. the nerve ending of the neurons contains some vessels that secreats a chemical called neurotransmitter in synapse. the dendrites of other neuron contains chemoreceptors that recieves the chemical and generates same signal
