Answer:

Nitrogen Cycle

As the plants become food for animals, the nitrogen in the form of nitrogenous compounds is used by animals. When plants and animals die, bacteria and fungi present in the soil turn their decaying remains into compounds of nitrogen which are again taken up by the plants. Some bacteria convert nitrogen compounds back into nitrogen gas which is released into the atmosphere. These processes occurring in a cyclic manner together help to maintain the amount of nitrogen in the atmosphere almost at a constant level. This is how, nitrogen cycle works.

Explanation:

The nitrogen cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which nitrogen is converted into multiple chemical forms as it circulates among atmosphere, terrestrial, and marine ecosystems. The conversion of nitrogen can be carried out through both biological and physical processes. Wikipedia
