There are five types of noun are :-

1. Proper noun :- a proper noun is the name of a particular person, animal, place or thing.

2. Common noun :- a common noun is a name given in common to every person, place or thing of the same class or kind.

For example :- boy, girl and dog

3. Collective noun :- a collective noun is the of a number of persons or thing taken together and spoken of as one whole.

4. Material noun :- a material noun is the name of a material substance.

For example :- rice, sliver and oil.

5. Abstract noun :- an abstract noun is the name of some quality, state, felling or idea that we can only think of or feel but cannot see or touch.
