The energy which is produced by the fission or fusion of heavy radioactive elements is known as nuclear energy.
It is mainly done to produce a heavy bombs like hydrogen bomb, atom bomb, nuclear bomb extra.
The energy which is produced by the sun is known as solar energy.
Difference between them is :
1. Solar energy is produced by sun where as Nuclear energy is produced by heavy elements.
2. Solar energy does not causes any pollution in the environment and it is eco friendly where as a Nuclear energy causes of pollution in the environment and produces a several diseases.

Answer:
Nuclear energy is generated when the nuclei of atoms of certain elements like uranium and thorium are broken in nuclear reactors. A tremendous amount of heat is generated in this process which is used to heat is generated in this process which is used to heat water to further generate steam. This steam is used to run generators to produce electricity. Nuclear power plants require very little fuel and cause lesser pollution than coal based plants.
