The main function of the cell nucleus is to control gene expression and mediate the replication of DNA during the cell cycle. The nucleus is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Inside its fully enclosed nuclear membrane, it contains the majority of the cell's genetic material.

•All the RNA needed for the cell are synthesised in the nucleus.

Functions:-
•It controls the heredity characteristics of the organisms.
•It is responsible for protein synthesis, cell division, growth, etc.
•Nucleolus produces ribosomes and they are known as protein factories.
•It also regulates the integrity of gene and gene expression.
•It is a site for transcription process which messenger RNA (mRNA) are produced for protein synthesis.
..
Hope it helps..!
