TYPES OF NUTRITION :

There are two types of nutrition :

1)AUTOTROHIC NURITION:

The mode of nutrition in which organisms make their own food from simple inorganic materials (like carbon dioxide and water) is called AUTOTROPHIC NUTRITION.

2)HETEROTROPHIC NUTRITION :

The mode of nutrition in which organisms cannot make their food from simple inorganic materials like carbon dioxide and water and depend on other organisms for food is called heterotrophic nutrition.

THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF HETEROTROPHIC NUTRITION :

A) SAPROTROPHIC NUTRITION :

The nutrition in which the organisms depend upon the decaying matter of dead plants and animals. For example, mushrooms, bread moulds, etc.

B) PARASITIC NUTRITION :

The nutrition in which the organism depend upon another living organism (called it's host) without killing it, is called parasitic nutrition. For example, Cuscutta, roundworms, etc.

C) HOLOZOIC NUTRITION :

The nutrition in which the organism takes food into its body by the process of ingestion, ingested food is digested and then consumed in be the cells of the organism, is called holozoic nutrition. For example, Human beings, tiger, giraffe, dog, etc.
