What is observed when hot concentrated sulphuric acid is added to sulphur?

Here,
Hot and concentrated sulphuric acid oxidises sulphur to sulphur dioxide . So the yellow colour sulphur changes into pungent odour SO2

S + 2 H2SO4 ----> 3SO2 + 2 H2O

S + H2SO4 = SO2 + H2O
