To know the identity of the most common viral agents causing diseases affecting the eye,  and the type of viruses they are, so that appropriate treatments can be considered

To understand the mechanisms by which different viruses induce clinical signs of ocular disease

To know the current treatment antivirals their model of action, and their limitations when  used to block virus replication induced clinical disease.

To know appropriate circumstances in which steroid treatment is used to modulate virus induced immune mediated inflammatory disease
