Oleum or sulfuric acid fuming is a solution of various sulfuric trioxide compounds in sulfuric acid or often called as disulfuric acid also known as pyrosulfuric acid.
It is fact not that easy like the formula of sulfuric acid
Formula :
H2SO4 where this product is very close related to.
It is in plain english : over saturated sulfuric acid.
Like 100% H2SO4 + X%SO3That lead to a rare phenomena that if you have 63%oleum and you add water to it ( watch out, very exothermic !) you end up with 100% H2SO4.
